Mini- Motivation Tips

Sometimes we all need a little push in life. Whether we're itching to pursue the dreams we've held in our heart since childhood or we simply need the willingness to tackle mundane chores, we can often find ourselves mired in a rut of inertia and feel like its the most difficult task to rise out of it.

There are 101 tips listed. Some of the tips are deceptively simple, but can be very effective indeed. Please keep in mind that they may vary in their effectiveness depending upon your mood and your current state of mind. These factors can fluctuate widely from day to day.

1. Drink a glasss of cold water

Dehydration can result in fatigue and mental fogging, which sure doesn't help your motivation. Before doing intensive mental or physical work, try drinking a glass of ice cold water and watch how it refreshes you. Also be sure to keep drinking plenty of water throughout the day. One glass of water won't be enough for a body that is more than mildly dehydrated.

2. Meditate

Scattered thoughts can make any task seem more confusing or burdensome. Before beginning work on your objective, take 15 minutes to sit quietly and focus on nothing. Keep your mind as blank as possible. You may have to gently pull back your focus when it begins to wander, but avoid becoming frustrated about it. Simply keep readjusting your focus and stay calm, and you should feel centered and refreshed in just a few minutes.

3. Create a worry box

Nothing is more aggravating than trying to work productively and being nagged to death by worries! Instead of letting your worries take over your mind, create a worry box keep them in. You can use any kind of box, from an empty shoe box to a decorative wooden or glass box. Write all of your current worries on a sheet of paper. When you can't think of any other worries, put the sheet into the box, close it and store it away on a high shelf nearby. If worries begin to nag at you again while you are trying to stay focused, glance at your worry box and remind yourself that you don't have to worry about anything right now because you've placed your worries in that box.

4. Empty your mind with free writing

Similar to the worry box described above, you may have nagging thoughts that aren't exactly worries but nevertheless irritate and distract you. Start your day by "pouring" all of them onto a sheet of paper. As you write your thoughts down affirm that you are setting them aside so you can better focus on the task at hand. I f you notice random thoughts nagging at you again later while working on your objectives, take another sheet of paper and repeat the process. Eventually you will train your mind to focus on the task at hand and let go of unnecessary random thoughts.

Early people relied upon the natural environment to give them shelter. Hunters made camps beneath cliffs, and families often lived and sheltered in natural caves. In some places, such as Lascaux in France and Altamira in Spain, early people painted scenes including animals on the walls of their caves. The Deir is the largest and one of the grandest monument in Petra. The Deir is so called because Christian hermits are thought to have lived there. The ancient city of Petra, in Jordan, was an important trading center in Roman times. Camel trains passed through carrying incense, silk and spices. There were high cliffs all around the city and people carved buildings out of the sandstone walls.

CLIFF DWELLING

From about a.d. 1000 to 1300, native peoples called Anasazi, who lived in south western Colorado, US built homes in holes in the walls of canyon cliffs. This parkland region is known as Mesa Verde, or Green Table.

CAVE HOMES

People have been living in the caves at Cappadocia, Turkey, for 5000 years. Homes have been carved out of the soft volcanic rock. Some are still in use and have entrances at a high level for security.

SACRED CAVES

About 10 million people may have lived in the Buddhist cave temples at Yun-Kang, in China during the Wei dynasty. In the Sui dynasty 500 more caves at Dunhuang were filled with painting and carvings of the Buddha, giving them the name "The Caves of the 1,000 Buddhas." The caves,now empty were used by monks and missionaries.

Kids Projects Ancient Cities and Ancient Ruins

Ancient cities were smaller than most modern cities. They were centers where local rulers lived and where people came from the countryside to sell or trade goods. Although many ancient cities have completely disappeared over time, the remains of some still exist. From them, we have learned a great deal about how people once lived.

Buried City

Pompeii was prosperous city in Italy until the volcano Vesuvius erupted on August 24, A.D. 79. About 2,000 of its 20,000 people died. The ruins were preserved in volcanic ash. When archeologist dug them up, the remains provided much information about life in the city.

Planned City

Chang’an (xi’an) was the imperial capital of China from 202 B.C. to A.D. 8, during the Han dynasty. Archeologists working on the site unearthed original plans of the layout of Chang’an as well as many ruins. The city was once surrounded by a wall.

Temple To A Goddess

Built from 447 to 432 B.C., the Parthenon, a temple to the Greek goddess Athene, stands on the hill of the Acropolis, Athens Greece. The sculptor Phidias made a large gold and ivory statue of Athene, which was placed inside the temple. Over the centuries, the temple was used as both a Christian church and a Muslim mosque.

There were many changes during the early part of India's history. From 2500 B.C. to 1500 B.C. the Indus Valley people of northern India lived as farmers. Then invaders, called Indo-Aryans, arrived. Over the next thousand years, the Hindu civilization developed. It was a mixture of early Indian customs and Indo-Aryan beliefs. India was divided into separate kingdoms, ruled by Hindu warriors. Hindu laws and customs were first written down in holy songs, called Vedas, around 600 B.C.

First Indian Empire

Chandragupta Maurya was a Hindu warrior. Before he came to power, India was made up of thousands small settlements with many languages and customs. By 322 B.C., he had created a new empire that united and controlled much northern and central India.

Riding Off To Battle

From about 320 B.C. to 185 B.C. Hindu warriors fought wars to win riches and conquer new land. They rode to war on elephants and in chariots pulled by horses. The well-trained elephants led the armies into battle.

Indus Valley Civilization

Around 2500 B.C. two great cities, Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro, were built in the Indus Valley, in present-day Pakistan and northern India. These cities had forts, palaces,open-air baths and comfortable brick houses. The Indus Valley people were farmers, traders, artists and craft-workers and were ruled by priest-kings.

New Religious Laws

King Ashoka was Chandraupta's grandson. He was also mighty warrior. King Ashoka ordered pillars carved with his new laws to be built throughout his kingdom. Ashoka's lion is a symbol of modern India. He became a Buddhist and made many new laws based on peaceful Buddhist teachings. He also built roads and hospitals.

Egyptians believed that people's spirits could only survive after death if their bodies were preserved. So they made mummies by drying bodies in salt and wrapping them in bandages. Mummies of pharaohs and other important people were carried in a procession to their tombs on funeral barges. Pharaohs mummy lay inside a casket decorated with gold. Funeral barge was sailed across the Nile, then carried to the pyramid. Chest full of treasures were carried for the pharaohs to use in the afterlife. Women mourners were paid to weep and wail.Pyramids were tombs built for early Egyptian kings.

TUTANKHAMUN'S TOMB

Tutankhamun was a young pharaoh who died around 1350 B.C. He was buried in a tomb full of treasure in the Valley of the kings. His tomb remained hidden for over 2,000 years, until it was discovered in 1922.

Gift Of The Nile

The Egyptians called their country "the gift of the Nile." Almost every year, the River Nile overflowed its banks, bringing fresh water and rich mud to the dry fields. The farmers needed this "gift" so that their crops would grow.

Wind, water and ice can powerful forces that erode or wear down, land forms and sometimes threaten the places where people live.

Water can slowly wear away even the hardest of rocks, sometimes leaving strange structures behind. Some rivers, such as the Colorado River in the U.S., have eroded great canyons through the rocks around them. Wind and sand can whip around land forms in deserts and create fantastic shapes, such as those in the Pinnacles Desert, Australia. Colorado River flows from the Rocky Mountains for 2,300 km the sea.

Pebbles are stones worn smooth by the action of water and sand in a sea or river.

Flowing Water

The Grant Canyon, Arizona, U.S., is 350 km long and up to 1830 m deep. It cuts through layers of rock that are 2 billion year old. The colors of the rocks add to the beauty of the canyon. The Grand Canyon cut out by the fast-flowing Colorado River,starting about 6 million years ago. Grand Canyon is between 6 and 29 km wide.

Erosion By Ice

During the past 2 million years, ice wind and rain have worn away mountains that formed in Chile over 12 million years ago. In this way, the Torres or towers, of the Torres del Paine National Park were created. These peaks are over2,600m tall.

Wave Power

About 75 million years ago, in Phangnga Bay, Thailand, Earth movements pushed up limestone rocks from the ocean floor. The limestone was slowly eroded by sea's waves, until only the hardest rock was left. This formed peaks up to 100m tall.

Desert Wind and Sand

The strange peaks of rocks in Pinnacles Desert, Australia were formed when windblown sand wore away softer outer rock. Plants called lichen growing on the rocks give some protection from erosion, but the peaks are still being worn away. Some of the peaks are up to 5 m.

Kids Project - Waterfalls and Dams

Waterfalls are found where a stream rushes over a cliff. Some stunning waterfalls have become tourist sites. Falling or fast -running water can be powerful. This power can be used to make hydroelectricity. Water is held back in a reservoir by a dam. When it is released, it turns machines called turbines to produce electricity for industry and home. Reservoirs also store water for use later.

Powerful River

In the 1960s, the Aswan High Dam in Egypt was built across the Nile River to provide hydroelectricity and water for irrigating farm crops. When it was built, the huge dam was thought to be a great engineering success. However, much land had to be flooded to create the enormous reservoir behind the dam. Aswan High Dam produces more electricity than Egypt needs.

Roaring Falls

The African name for Victoria Falls is Mosi-oa-tunya, which means "the smoke that thunders." The water roars as it plunges over the cliff, and the spray flies 300m into the air. At their widest point the fall are 1,700 m wide and the water drops 108 m. Victoria Falls on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Rainbows are often seen near waterfalls because light shines through water droplets in the air.

Mighty Dam

Hoover Dam in the U.S. was built across the Colorado River between 1930 and 1936. The main part of the concrete dam is 221m high. Named after President Herbert Hoover, the dam is used for flood control, electrical power and water supplies.

Waterfall Stunt

Niagara Falls is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Canada and the U.S.. Forming part of the border between the two countries, Horseshoe Falls is 51m high and America Falls is 54 m high. The falls provide electricity. In the 19th century, stunt men rode over Niagara Falls in barrels.

A national park is a large area of land where the natural land scape, plants and animals are protected. National parks may be created for leisure activities or for historical or scientific interest. Many countries have national parks, especially Brazil, Japan, Africa, India the U.S. and Australia. The first national park was Yellowstone in the northwestern U.S. It was founded in 1872.

Hot Springs

Yellowstone is the largest national park in the U.S. and is famous for its hot springs. There are also lakes and waterfalls, and ancient forests that have petrified or turned to stone. A huge variety of animals live in Yellowstone, which stretches for 8,992 sq.km across 3 U.S. states. The Yellowstone has about 250 active geysers or gushing hot springs.

Sacred Rock

Uluru- Kata Tjuta is Australia's most famous national park. It became a national park in 1987. Uluru or Ayers Rock is sacred to the Aborigines, the native people of Australia, who own it. They believe that Uluru was formed from a large, flat sandhill at the time the Earth was created. Thousands of tourists visit the park each year.

Waterfall Border

Iguazu, a huge waterfall, crashes over the cliff that forms part of the Argentina-Brazil border. Both countries have created national parks around Iguazu, covering 2,396 sq km of rain forest. These parks protect animals, insects and pants that live and grow in the area.

Protecting Wild Life

People visit Amboseli National Park in the southern Kenya to watch the wildlife and to look at Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 m. Visitors are asked to keep to the roads, because vehicles can easily damage the plants and trees on which the animals feed. Giraffe, gazelles, zebras and lions are common in Amboseli.

Baby Sister

Hai Welcome .....was busy with my hubbys birthday and kids studies... Today I thought I will post the pic. of my son holding his sis for the first time. This was taken just one day after our daughters birth. My son always wanted a baby brother, so he can have a company to play, but he was very excited after seeing his little sis. I still remember he was very happy after holding and kissing her for the first time. Kids r like angels...cute, loving and give us lot of happiness....A real gift and blessing from the Almighty. The Second Six Months

At 6 months most babies smile.They look like angels ........And you just forget all your worries and tensions and feel relaxed seeing their smile. The baby may roll over when placed on their back. They may learn to crawl, sit, pull them self-up and even stand. By a year they may start to walk, although walking unaided does not often occur so soon.

At this stage the baby is full of life and activity. She won't lie still when you change the diaper and often needs distraction. The baby cries if you put him/her down or leave them alone.

Other changes...........The baby may not want to go to sleep as frequently as before. The baby may awaken at night, let the baby know you are nearby, but don't make a habit of playing in the middle of the night.

If your baby seems to be left handed, do not try to make him /her right handed. Each of us inherits a preference for one hand or the other, and it is harmful to try to change it.

In the 2nd six months period, the baby will probably take milk from a cup. Let them try to take and hold the cup by themselves.

First six months of the BABY

Hello welcome after a break...........Its very important that the baby have regular health supervision during these months. The pediatrician will check the baby's height and weight on each visit and make certain the baby is growing and gaining at a satisfactory rate. No two children develop at the same rate.

By two months a baby often holds his/her head up when the baby lies on his/her stomach or when being held up. The baby recognizes large objects and the feeding position. Baby can probably smile at this stage.

By three months most babies start eating some solids especially processed for babies - fruits, cereals, vegetables, meats in addition to having breast milk.

By four months the baby will look at moving objects. Do not be surprised if the baby's eyes cross, this is a normal condition during early infancy. At about this time, the baby may also learn to turn over from front to back --- An important milestone.

By 5 months, babies show a clear preference for a loved one. In the following months, "separation protest" and "stranger anxiety" are two of the ways babies show this growing attachment. A close bond provides a foundation for future relationships: babies learn from their parents how to love and how to trust.


Most babies double their birth weight by gaining an average of 0.5 oz (14.2 g) to 1 oz (28.4 g) every day for the first 6 months of life. Birth weight usually triples sometime between 9 and 12 months of age. By 12 months of age, most babies have grown in length a total of about 10 in. (25.4 cm) since birth. Head circumference usually increases about 0.25 in. (0.6 cm) to 0.5 in. (1.3 cm) a month.

The first 12 months may be the most dynamic period of life. Dramatic changes are taking place in all areas of growth and development.

2. Unzip the pre-registration application in either the PC or the Mac version

3. Your computer may require you to download the following software. Only do this if you are prompted to.

4. Download JRE 6.0 from Sun Microsystems web site. Copy this URL into your browser.

4. Run the Pre-application file.

5. Complete the form and print on a laser printer. It will automatically provide a translation in Arabic and the needed bar codes.

6.Assemble your documents

7. Take: 100 AED per year of your visa length for registration fees and 20 AED Card delivery fees (ID Card valid until the expiry date on your visa

All children below 15 years Note the attendance of children below 5 is optional but you need to take a 4.5x3.5 cm personal photo with a light blue background for children under 15. They must register, but do not have to have an ID card. The issue of an ID card for them costs AED 50.

Regardless of nationality the registration in the population register is mandatory and free, but issuing the ID Card is optional for 50 AED and 20 AED Card delivery fees (ID Card expiry rules, and as specify above and according to nationality)
